It serves as the primary platform for identifying and targeting beneficiaries of social protection programmes such as LEAP, school feeding, and national health insurance.

As of the latest reporting period, the GNHR contains data on over 2.9 million households covering 11.2 million individuals across 18,457 communities in Ghana.

How does GNHR classify poor households?

GNHR uses the Proxy Means Test (PMT) methodology, based on the Ghana Living Standards Survey (GLSS 7), to objectively classify households into extreme poor, absolute poor, and non-poor categories for targeted social protection interventions.

How is data quality assured in the GNHR?

GNHR employs a rigorous four-tier quality assurance process including field supervisor checks, back-office data validation, community verification, and final data audits before any data is added to the registry.
